i have been experiencing this abnormal bleeding which is heavy flow.my doctor suggested i take combined contraceptives to cease or decrease the blood flow.will i have any effect in taking the pills?

Doctors often prescribe oral

Doctors often prescribe oral contraceptives to help reduce the amount of bleeding for women who are complaining of having menstruation that is too heavy. Oral contraceptives reduce bleeding for all women because the bleeding is not truly menstruation, but rather withdrawal bleeding from stopping the pill hormones. Oral contraceptives do not actually cure whatever the underlying cause is for the heavy bleeding.

The Pill has many side effects, which are increasingly serious depending on your age and whether or not you smoke. You should make sure you are fully informed of all the potential health hazards and side effects before you start taking the Pill.

Best of luck,
