I had an unprotected sex a day before my period came, would it be possible if i would get pregnant?

If you had unprotected sex on the day before your period was due, you cannot get pregnant. This is because ovulation happens about 14 days before your period. The egg lives only for 1-2 days. By the time your period is almost ready to happen, you are no longer fertile.

You can use your natural body rhythms as a form of birth control. It's called Natural Family Planning, or Fertility Awareness. Visit http://www.contracept.org/natural.php to learn how to make this system work for you.

Don’t try to use this system without learning more about it though -- it's easy to make a mistake and you may end up with a surprise pregnancy!

Best of luck,
