You have a 26% chance of

You have a 26% chance of getting pregnant if you have sex on the day before you ovulate. You have a 15% chance of getting pregnant if you have sex on the day you ovulate. You have a 9% chance of getting pregnant if you have sex on the day after you ovulate.

Ovulation happens about 14 days after the first day of your period. The egg lives only for 1-2 days, but the sperm can stay alive inside your reproductive tract for several days, waiting for the egg to be released and you to become fertile. But it’s hard to know when you ovulate unless you use an ovulation predictor test.

You can use your natural body rhythms as a form of birth control or as a way to get pregnant. It's called Natural Family Planning, or Fertility Awareness. Visit http://www.contracept.org/natural.php to learn how to make this system work for you.
